After a busy first-half of the summer, it feels like we're finally in a bit of a lull....
and enjoying it to the fullest!

As the kiddos climb down from their beds, with yawns and stretches, our day springs forth.
We snuggle on the couch. The girls watch cartoons. And I enjoy my morning coffee.
And when the mood strikes, we head to the kitchen for breakfast.
The morning is filled with playtime:
Books.
Bikes.
Barbies.
(And breaking up fights.)
And also a lot of this..................................and this.
After lunch we have quiet time.
And then snack.
And then comes our favorite time:
Daddy is home! (Yay for summer work hours!)
His arrival usually means it's time to swim!
The rest of the day is filled with projects, or soccer, or meetings, or movies,
and just plain being together.

And then, the kiddos head off to bed.
And Hubby and I have time to finish projects, clean up, talk about our day, or watch our favorite TV shows.
(Thank goodness for DVR!)
So there you have it.
Our simple, but never boring,
and always changing life.
Summer is our down time, but soon September will come. Lil' N will be off to full days of first grade (sniff!) and Lil' R will be back a preschool two mornings a week. And when Hubby's hits "busy season" at work, he works more and more hours, and we see him less and less.
That's why we soak in these laid-back days like the summer sun.
I'm linking up a Gussy Sews Inspiration Workshop,
which provided these week' prompt "A Day In My Life."
Your girls are gorgeous! Stopped over from Gussy :)
ReplyDeleteUgh... the laundry & dishes... I hear ya there. Two of my three kids are old enough to do their own laundry and I still feel like there is a ton!
ReplyDeleteVery cute pics & when daddy gets home is ALWAYS the most exciting part of our day too!
Oh, that sounds like a nice day :)
