He Loves Her More

Recently, I overheard a conversation between my husband and my daughter.  Hubby was telling Lil' R how much he loved her, using familiar distances as a part of his example

“I love you from here, to your cousin' house, to Iowa, to Grandpa & Grandma’s, to the moon and back," he said, as she giggled.

Then he continued,  “But Jesus loves you more.”

For the rest of the day, Lil' R continued to tell me,
“Jesus loves me more.  He loves me more, Mom.”

When September begins, we'll step into a new season of life.  We’ll be sending Lil' N off to first grade:  her first experience with all-day school.  As a parent, these moments are tough.  We know our kids need to grow and change, but sometimes, it’s hard to accept those changes.

So when I take Lil' N for the first day of school, I’ll be striving to remember that as much as I love her and want the best for her, Jesus loves her more!  He cares for my kids even more than Hubby and I can imagine.

May you have power with all God's people to understand Christ's love.
May you know how wide and long and high and deep it is.
And may you know his love, even though it can't be known completely.
Then you will be filled with everything God has for you.
(Ephesians 3:18-19)
