Our Plans...God's Plans

Ever feel overwhelmed by your day?
Are there times you wish that instead of a hectic run-around, you were greeted with something like this?

At first glance, it seems like this would be a great way to start the day.  We’d all be given a “status report” and know exactly what to expect.  But real life doesn’t work this way.  We can’t see what’s coming up ahead.

Proverbs 19:6 reminds us that, “We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.”

Not knowing what the future holds can seem unsettling.
We want more information.  But there’s a song that accurately describes how we see our life and how God sees the big picture.  The song is called Parade

You see the whole parade
From the beginning to the end
You know the route that my life will take
You know exactly where I’ve been
While I only see what’s

goin’ by in front of me
You see the whole parade”

Parade (Parade Album Version) by Go Fish on Grooveshark

Sometimes we forget that we can only see a small part of life…
only a tiny amount of the details that swirl around.  Yet God sees it all.  It’s not our job to know everything and to have a constant “status update.”

It’s our job to trust God’s plans for our life, and know that they are “plans to prosper us, not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future.”  (Jeremiah 29:11)
